Choose Phi Phi if
- You want the most dramatic scenery and famous sights.
- You love snorkelling, diving and boat trips.
- You enjoy a social atmosphere and some nightlife.
- You do not mind paying a bit more and sharing the highlights with others.
Choose Koh Lanta if
- You want long, quiet beaches and space.
- You are travelling with children and want a relaxed base.
- You like exploring by scooter.
- You prefer a lower budget.
Choose Railay or Phuket if
Railay, on the Krabi coast but reachable only by boat, is a paradise for climbers with stunning limestone. Phuket offers the most choice in hotels, restaurants and flights, and is the easiest base for day trips, including to Phi Phi.
Or combine them
Ferries link all four in high season. A popular 10-day route is Phuket, Phi Phi, Koh Lanta and Krabi. See Itineraries and How to get there.
